About Ella...

Ella was born and educated on the Isle of Man. As a child she showed a passion and talent for the arts and played a range of instruments and participated in many local productions and concerts. After being cast in the chorus of her first professional opera, l'elsiir d'amore in 1999, Ella fell in love with the stage and further pursued her classical training in acting and singing. However, in a change of direction due to lack of funding and personal circumstances, she then went on to study politics instead of music at the Univeristy of Leeds. Upon graduating Ella set up an events management business in Manchester where she now resides. After three years feeling unhappy and unfulfilled in the world of business and commerce, Ella decided to take a few singing lessons with Tony Norton of The Three Irish Tenors - this was initially in preparation for singing at a family wedding - but realised music and acting were her passion, and it was at that point Ella decided to make it her destiny. Since her first singing lesson with Tony, Ella has gone from strength to strength developing a solid classical training, singing jazz, classical, musicals and opera. She was awarded a place at Trinity College of Music in London for one year of advanced study in opera in 2010. Since this Ella has been awarded a place on the Masters in Music Performance course at the University of Huddersfield , to her delight! Meaning she can remain in the North West where she has become settled and continue her fundraising and charity work for local charities and LGBT concerns, and not have to re locate the entire family - Schubert and Ronald the two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Hugh the cat! Ella is currently working full time as an actress, singer and music teacher and Is keen to develop a style of opera that everyone can enjoy. Being brought up in a typical working class family, access to classical music and the arts were restricted so Ella had to pursue her passion of music through any genre available; from Rolling Stones to Beatles, from George Michael to Elton John and from Whitney to Oasis! And this has resulted in Ella's style being that of classical but with a modern twist. She is particularly iuterested in LGBT film, music and theatre and welcomes any suggestions for projects and productions.
